Manage a shared environment
Edit an environment
Update an environment's settings, runtime, or sharing at any time from the Knime UI. Workflow runs always finish on the runtime version and settings they started with — only new runs pick up your changes. The exception is the compute class of a sovereign environment. See Manage a sovereign environment's executors.
Manage a sovereign environment's executors
Each sovereign environment has its own executors. Add or remove them from the Environments page under Global administration. To install and connect an executor, see Sovereign execution.
If you change the compute class of a sovereign environment, its executors restart automatically to apply the new class. For details, see Compute classes for sovereign execution.
Running jobs are lost
When the executors restart, jobs running on them are lost. Change the compute class when no jobs are running in the environment.
Delete an environment
Before deleting an environment, Knime warns you if it still has running jobs or deployments that reference it:
- If you proceed, deployments that reference the environment are deleted.
- The environment itself is deleted once every job running with it has finished.
Monitoring
Environments keep track of the runs and deployments against them, including execution status history, so you can investigate problems after an update. You can download an environment's logs at any time to debug execution issues.
How long this history data is retained depends on your plan:
| Plan | Run and deployment history |
|---|---|
| Business | 180 days |
| Enterprise | Up to 2 years |
