Business and Enterprise plans both unlock enterprise features such as SSO and AI gateways. The main difference between the two is scale — Business is capped at 40 builders, which suits a single team, while Enterprise offers unlimited builders and teams to support scaling across departments and business units, along with access to more add-ons.

Moving between plans

To move from Business to Enterprise, or to upgrade your credit band within a plan, contact your Knime account team. You're not limited to doing this only at renewal.

Add-ons

With add-ons you can extend your Business or Enterprise plan with additional capabilities or deployment options. The following are available starting with the Business plan, unless noted otherwise:

  • Private gallery: share reusable workflows and components across your organization's teams.
  • Bring your own model: use your own AI model instead of Knime-managed models.
  • Sovereign execution, level 1 (Business) and level 2 (Enterprise): run execution on your own infrastructure so your data doesn't have to leave it. See Sovereign Execution for setup instructions.
  • Private environment: move from the shared SaaS environment to an isolated deployment on your own Knime instance. This unlocks the following further add-ons:
    • Premium disaster recovery, together with private connectivity. See Disaster recovery and resilience and Custom VPC and Private Link.
    • Custom region selection: choose a cloud region outside Knime's standard regions, for example to meet a jurisdictional requirement or reduce latency. This applies a geography multiplier to pricing.
  • On-premises: run Knime entirely on your own infrastructure. Typical total deal size is around 400K, reflecting the cost of maintaining an on-premises deployment. Since Knime can't track remote consumption directly, usage is measured through a license file that you update locally to increase your band.

Availability

On-premises deployment is planned for next year for new customers. Contact your Knime account team to discuss your specific case sooner.

Data isolation levels

If your data can't leave certain infrastructure or jurisdictions, Knime offers several levels of isolation between full SaaS and on-premises:

  1. Full SaaS: The standard, fully managed Knime instance.
  2. Private environment: Execution happens in an isolated cloud environment. Still fully managed by Knime, with all the benefits of SaaS, plus secure private connectivity to your internal networks and databases.
  3. Sovereign European cloud: Through a partnership with STACKIT, run on a sovereign European cloud, independent of US cloud providers.
  4. Sovereign execution, levels 1 and 2: Execution moves to your own infrastructure, so data doesn't have to leave it. Available with different levels of security and encryption.
  5. On-premises: Knime runs entirely within your own infrastructure.

For the architecture and data handling behind private connectivity, see Custom VPC and Private Link.
